I started the Brolo Discord because I hit a point in life where I realized something: as adults, we don’t really make new friends anymore....not the real kind. Not the “sit on a porch, smoke something good, and talk about life until midnight” kind.

Most of us jump between work, family, responsibilities… and somewhere along the way, the deeper conversations, the dumb jokes, the shared rituals, all just kind of evaporate. Cigars used to be the one place I could slow down, breathe, and actually connect with someone. But I was often smoking alone.

So I built this Discord hoping there were other people out there who wanted the same thing, not just a chat server, but a virtual lounge. A place where the ashtray is always warm and the door is always open. A place for the guy/gal who doesn’t have a local lounge OR a place for the guy/girl who has a lounge but still wants more community. A place for anyone whose life has gotten loud, fast, or heavy.

We’ve got a 24/7 general chat, but the thing that’s surprised me most has been our live Tuesday/Thursday meetups. Somehow, total strangers end up talking like old friends...about cigars, sure, but also about marriage, anxiety, work stress, wins and failures… all the stuff men/women don’t usually permit themselves to say out loud.

Just camaraderie, good cigars, and a bunch of people trying to slow down and enjoy life a little more intentionally.
